Love Me, Love Me Ending Explained: Does June Choose Will or James?

by teenserie • 8 June 2026

By the end of Love Me, Love Me, only one question matters: does June choose Will or James? The short answer, according to viewers who watched the Prime Video film, is James. However, the ending is not as clean as you’d expect, and that question mark in the “The End?” card is there on purpose.

⚠️ Spoilers — from here on we explain how the film ends. If you haven’t watched it yet, stop now.

What happens in the final scene

The showdown runs through the ring. Will, fed up, decides to take out his frustration on James in a fight. James doesn’t want to face his friend. Will, however, doesn’t hold back. June stops the clash by pulling the fire alarm.

From there, the tension explodes outside the ring. James’ stepdad-trainer drives him away to remove him from the situation. Then the car crashes. June and Will, who were following on motorbikes, reach the scene. After Will helps pull James from the burning car, the three of them collapse on the ground together, alive.

So is June with James?

Essentially yes, even though the film doesn’t officially pair them up. In the closing scene, June and James lie side by side, finally at peace with their relationship. June says she might get her first kiss from James. We don’t see it, but the direction is clear.

Will, meanwhile, steps back. He decides James has suffered enough and states that there is no bad blood between them anymore. In a voiceover, finally, June notes that they made it out alive and that Will has forgiven her and James.

Why the ending is “open”: the meaning of “The End?”

Here’s the angle many people miss. The film doesn’t close the romance with a kiss or a confession, but with a question mark. That is a deliberate choice. Love Me, Love Me comes from the first novel in a four-book series, therefore June and James’ story is only beginning.

So that “The End?” works on two levels. On one hand, it leaves the audience holding its breath over the first kiss. On the other, it sets up the sequel: June and James’ story, in fact, is meant to continue. This isn’t an unresolved ending out of laziness. It’s a door left open on purpose.
